The Board of Modbury Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the Medical Research Grants for 2010.  The 2010 support is $35,000 - a substantial increase on last year's Grants allocation.

General Research Grant $25,000 awarded to Dr Kush Shrestha, Dir Vivek Eranki, Dr Linda Ferris, Associate Prof Mellick Chehade - Functional treatment of Achilles tendon ruptures with cam walkers.

Seed Research Grant to support new researcher up to $10,000
– not awarded in 2010.

Other Research Funding Request minor grants awarded to:

• Associate Prof Julian McNeil, Hubertus Jersmann – Assessment of 4th year medical student performance in medicine at tertiary & secondary hospitals.

• Associate Professor Atkinson, Dr A Cameron – A novel sterile gloving technique to reduce surgical cross infection.

Research Grants for 2011 will be advertised in March 2011.
